Scientometrics is a set of methods used to measure texts and information such as citations that trace relationships amongst academic journals – so that for example, the popularity and impact of specific articles, authors, and publications can be determined. Together with Dr Pandelis Perakakis, a psychologist at the University of Granada, and Dr Varvara Trachana, a cellular biologist at the Hellenic National Research Foundation, we are analysing and developing alternative publishing models that promote free and open access to scientific works.
